All I Want for Christmas Is… November?
The moment pumpkins and skeletons are replaced by twinkling lights and our living rooms suddenly sprout Christmas trees marks not only a shift in the calendar, but also a shift in our lives. Math Competition Recap
In the last three weeks, our school’s math enthusiasts put their problem-solving skills to the test in the first math competition season of the school year, which included three major competitions: the Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC), the American Mathematics Competition (AMC 10/12A), and the Canadian Intermediate Mathematics Contest (CIMC). How to Rob France’s Crown Jewels – and get away with it
(To preface, this article is a satirical commentary on the heist that took place on Oct 19th) On the morning of October 19th, the world froze in shock as the first jewelry heist of the 21st century took place, robbing the Louvre of 120 million dollars worth of historic medieval jewels in the span of just 7 minutes. With Netflix’s quality going down, my boredom has skyrocketed. Nevertheless, some films ar

Sora AI made me question everything online
“Didn’t he come out as gay?” Is what I heard from a friend in class, convinced after watching a TikTok of boxer and influencer Jake Paul, making a personal announcement. But as it turns out, it wasn’t true at all. The video was made using Sora AI, OpenAI’s new text-to-video tool that’s surging on social media with ultra-realistic videos, misleading thousands of people (including my friends) every day. Sora AI is OpenAI’s innovative text-to-video model and social media app, fi

Halloweek Recap
In this year's iteration of Halloweek, the halls of Sentinel were turned into a blur of music, laughter, and the occasional scream. Organized by the student council, this week brought both students and teachers through events that ranged from lighthearted to downright scary! Halloweek ran from Monday through Friday and each event offered something unique that students could look forward to. Halloweek started off with karaoke during lunch. Within minutes, the gym was packed.

Sentinel's Jazz Bands at the Pumpkin Fest
On Sunday, October 5, the West Vancouver Community Centre was alive with the sights, sounds, and smells of autumn at the annual Pumpkin Fest, one of the community’s most beloved fall traditions. Thousands attended this year’s event, which featured a pumpkin patch, pony rides, farm animals, food trucks, and dozens of other family-friendly activities. Right in the middle of it all, our very own Sentinel Secondary Jazz B and Jazz A bands, conducted by our music director Mr. Zolt
