Sentinel Mental Health Awareness Club
During the first two weeks of May, the Sentinel Mental Health Awareness Club has been fundraising for the Healthy Minds Centre at BC Children’s Hospital. The students at Sentinel plan to bring awareness to mental health issues by focusing on tips, group discussions, and advocating for helping mental health around the school. Each student interested in donating to help youth strengthen their mental health will pay $5 for a ticket to shave Señora’s hair. Additionally, the Mental Health Awareness Club will host Kahoots and questionnaires during lunch, so be sure to join and show your support to those in need!

French Immersion Exchange
In April, Sentinel’s French Immersion department welcomed students from Quebec. Students visited Sentinel, joined classes, explored Vancouver, and enjoyed a warm welcome from the Sentinel community. Sentinel’s grade 10 French Immersion students are now returning the favor, visiting Montreal for an epic trip and exchange. These were the same students who were recognized earlier this month with the 2023 Youth Appreciation Award from the District of West Vancouver for their organization of the Francophone Festival.
